Samsung Galaxy S5 [iPhone Movies] , [2016]

The work borrows a "curated selection" of films from a contextless list on the internet simply titled “iPhone Movies”. These films are broadcast through hand made smartphones, creating a critical link between the production of everyday objects and curatorial banality, while also highlighting the beauty of incidental juxtapositions in cyberspace. The work also functions to criticize the means by which media is consumed; by building a screen in order to utilize existing media, this swaps generic notions of screen art in its treatment of the screen as an object.
