To Be Held (East/West) , 2022
To be held is a continuation of a previous work, examining the relationship between human intimacy and the process of making and fixing objects by hand. The Joinery of the timber is an imagined, functionless means to extend the peice. The work was originally displayed touching, reflecting the intimate form of hands, joined but not connected. This continuation examines the connection of two spaces, both of which have great emotional meaning, but exist apart from one another.
